Energy audits

In response to the growing need to reduce energy consumption in both the industrial and power sectors, our company carries out energy audits aimed at increasing awareness of efficient energy management and identifying investment solutions that deliver measurable financial benefits.

The broad scope of activities performed by INWAT—such as energy measurements, design works, modernization and investment projects—combined with extensive experience, enables us to conduct professional energy audits and analyses in industrial enterprises. In addition, our employees hold ISO 50001 Internal Auditor certifications for Energy Management Systems.

INWAT also conducts energy audits for the purposes of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE) in accordance with the requirements of the Act of 20 May 2016 on Energy Efficiency.

Scope and Methodology of Energy Audits

Energy audits are carried out based on:

• data related to the consumption and costs of various types of energy,

• information related to the course of primary and auxiliary production processes,

• analysis of technical documentation,

• detailed inventory of installations and equipment,

• diagnostics of installations and equipment with regard to the identification of energy losses,

• operational thermal and flow measurements,

• thermographic (infrared) measurements,

• diagnostics of steam traps using professional steam trap testing equipment,

• detection of working-fluid leaks in installations using specialized diagnostic tools,

• thermal and flow analyses of the assessed systems, including mass and energy balance calculations,

• computer simulations of audited systems and industrial installations performed using specialized engineering software owned by INWAT.

Audit Results and Benefits

The outcome of an energy audit is a report presenting a description and analysis of the current state of energy use in the industrial facility, together with post-audit actions aimed at improving the facility’s energy management. The audit enables identification of areas requiring improvement and presentation of proposed modernization measures.

The decision to carry out an energy audit in an enterprise allows for:
